Career History
Vickey’s career started as a Graphic Designer for a printing firm using Quark Express, Photoshop and CorelDraw to design print media which included logos, newsletters, books, programs and a wide variety of special projects. She later began working with a non-profit organization and took charge of the print and digital media design. Vickey’s career progressed to web design using Microsoft FrontPage in it’s days of popularity.
In 2008 she enrolled as a student at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and immediately began learning and utilizing Adobe software applications to create print media, web graphics, interactive media design and web design.
After obtaining her degree in Web Design & Interactive Media from The Art Institute with a 3.8 grade point average in 2012, Vickey started contracting with businesses and institutions to create digital and print media.
In early 2014 Vickey began her career as an Instructional Design Architect for a University using her existing experience in audio & video editing, as well as graphic design and expanding it by creating interactive learning activities and custom graphics for online classrooms.
Currently Vickey is working as a freelancer in graphic and web design, as well as updating existing client websites to responsive layout as well as applying technologies to meet current standards i.e. HTML5, CSS3, and WordPress utilizing JQuery libraries widgets and plug-ins.
